“Winter arc”

I’ve never thought about the complexities of winter. The leaves wilt off the trees as it becomes colder, colorless yet darker outside, the more cozy we make our environment. We rest, eat comfort food, light candles, wrap ourselves in blankets and then there’s the holidays. I think it’s still all about perspective. Per usual. What we chose to focus on.

New Years resolutions stopped making sense a few years ago. I believe growth can happen in a cold Midwest season, but it’s from plans made during the height of another. That’s why being intentional is so important. Success does not happen by accident. You build a well before you’re thirsty, you implement systems for when you don’t feel like it And when you feel like you don’t feel like it, you remember why you started. There’s a difference between self-disciple and self-love. You have to love yourself enough to not let up on your goals, no matter the season.
