dear self,

You don’t have to keep being the version of yourself you built when they hurt your feelings. I know she kept you safe. I know she put up the walls that let you sleep at night. But those walls don’t just keep the wrong people out, they also blockade the right ones.

You are still loveable, even when you’re not perfect. Even when you are soft. Even when you are messy and unsure and vulnerable. You don’t have to be “strong” all the time. You don’t have to be self-preserving, self-serving, or always on guard. It’s okay to honor and serve others. It doesn’t make you weak. It doesn’t make you any less of a person.

The truth is, your imperfections don’t make you unloveable, they make you human.

And all those books you spend hours reading? All that wisdom you highlight and underline? It isn’t meant to just sit on your shelf or in your notes. Apply it. Otherwise, it’s wasted time, paper, and money. Don’t just consume the words, live them. Hold yourself accountable. Show up the way you want others to show up for you.

Because life isn’t about being untouchable. It’s about being reachable. And you are more than safe behind your walls…you are worthy, as you are, right now.

So take a breath. Let some bricks fall. Let yourself be seen.

love you,
me
