Long term friendships

I’m learning that old friends often become complacent friends… start thinking they deserve all of your time and attention versus valuing you as a human being.

The thing about becoming complacent, especially within friendships is that there is no effort. Even in long term relationships.. friendships… there still has to be that I still give a damn about you.. I still value you atmosphere.

I oftentimes forget that I don’t owe anyone anything. And that I need to monitor who I allow into my personal space.. because that gives others power to influence my thoughts and my well being.

I do believe people grow apart and oftentimes God places them in our lives for a reason, to learn from or to grow with. It’s okay to let people go. Sometimes so they can grow, sometimes for your own well being.
