I’ve been hearing a lot of talk about being the main character in your life. Putting yourself first when writing your story… I’ve never fathomed the concept of being the hero in my narrative. At least not the kind that wears capes, not even the type who saves herself first.

I think life is very personal. But then there are feelings like love or sadness, anger and hate. And then you develop empathy.  Maybe because you never felt like no one had it for you, so you extend your arms in every direction, hoping to be that for someone else. Next thing you know, life isn’t so personal anymore, and you’re tangled in this web, deciphering and conquering battles that don’t belong to you- only to neglect your own.

It’s not bad to be a hero, until you forget that heroes need saving too.
