ChatGPT mean the death of creativity/originality? I always say what bothers me about my students using ai/chat gpt, is they aren’t working their creative muscles, just relying on a computer. Short term to pass a class, great. Long term to navigate life… not so great. I think this speaks to the “you’ll never use this,” mentality that people have about core subjects like math, english and social studies. It’s about developing critical thinking skills and a figure it out mentality. If the extent of solving a problem is confiding in a robot… we’re doomed. I too have fallen into the comfort of relying on such resources. Not because of lack of thought or capability, more than anything- the efficiency of not having to expend mental energy on another task. I see the way it affects myself post highschool, undergrad, masters, and professional certificates… Imagine the untapped potential of our younger generation. I’m not saying this to belittle the greatness and innovativeness that the world is moving into, but it’s hard to ignore that it comes at a cost
